Alright, I know I've waited far too long to comment on my "Gelish" situation but I think I may be trying to block the distant memory out of my conscience.
One word. Bummer.
I loved Gelish for the first couple of days, they looked great and I was still so enthusiastic about this wonderful newfound creation and couldn't believe I had never used it before. Then, about 6 days into the experiment, things went awry. The corners of the polish started peeling back and if you're like me, once it starts, I would have to tie my hands to the chair to not manually finish the job (no mercy). So, you know what comes next; I start peeling. With the layer of Gelish comes the top layer of my nail- expected it but was hoping it wouldn't happen.
By the end of my work day I had three fingers sans nail polish and a bitter attitude toward my new true love.
I went home and soaked my fingers in acetone nail polish remover (because that's what they say to do). I can't have three fingers without polish, I don't play that game. There's no stopping me at this point because I will not wait to get to a nail salon- must. do. it. now.
The acetone did zilch. I ended up having to "rip", for lack of a more endearing term, all of the nail polish aaaaand some of my nail.
It's for the better anyway. I love my OPI colors and was dreading having to live without them and an impetuous polish change twice a week.
Verdict: Not So Jealous of Gelish.
