"Got My Head On Straight, I Got My Vibe Right. I Ain't Gonna Let You Kill It."

I've been waiting for a week of rain in LA. Feels so good to just be washed away. I think this song sums up pretty much everything I need to say today. Hopefully I'll have more inspiration tomorrow. Just going to soak in the rain today.

Title Credit. Listen and Love.

I have some of the best friends in the world. One of my closest made me a CD and when I put on the first song I could hardly help but laugh. I've listed the playlist below with their youtube links just because  I feel selfish not sharing this bitter, dirty, goodness with everyone- even if just to make you feel empowered. He has immaculate, and far too appropriate, taste. He has no idea how much this has truly cheered me up and he deserves a shout-out thank you so, THANK YOU! LOVE YOU! ...He'll regret making it one day and probably burn it because I'll be listening to this CD everyday for the next 40 years...

Back In Black...

I've been MIA for a while now. I've been going through some life changes and have just been trying to hold myself together and keep my head up. I've stayed away from blogging because I feel like I could have  done some serious damage venting wise and I thought it would be better to not do anything I would later regret. I'm better than that to air my dirty laundry. It's just so hard to be betrayed. We won't get into that...

Anyways, I've been trying to live in my pajamas so I haven't really been inspired by any images or outfits recently... I was actually thinking about nixing the blog scene all together but I've decided to stick through it and have it sort of act as my crutch and my hobby that I can put a good amount of effort into.

My Outfit Today...

American Apparel Slub V Neck
Express Cropped Leggings (my favorite)
Frye Veronica Slouch Boots
CC Skye Screw Bracelet
Juicy Pave Pyramid Stud Earrings

I think I'm going to take the day to compile a "Birthday Lust List" and post it later today if I can ever stop looking for things I would love to have...

Here's a little giddy-up for your day... I know I need it

"What's With You Today?"...

"What's with today, today?" (Empire Records, anyone?)

Isn't it funny that depending on how you dress yourself in the morning it sets the tone and attitude for your entire day? Sometimes I like being sweet, sassy and girly but most of the time I prefer to look like a baaaaaad B. Let's see if you can guess my mood today by my outfit. It's been an interesting new year so far, to say the least. Hopefully I'll get my computer back today.

American Apparel TriBlend V-Neck
Blank Denim Studded Short
Sam Edelman Bootie
Ray Ban Aviators
Michael Kors Watch
Scarf from a street vendor in NYC
Noir Pyramid Stud Hoops

Today's definitely one of these kind of days...

Hah. Enjoy that good old Wednesday, Bunnies!

Gilt.Com: Not-So-Guilty...

My poor little computer's at the Apple hospital so I've been slacking on blogging but hopefully it'll be back tomorrow.

Recently I've become more and more obsessed with Gilt and Haute Look. I've been a member of many of these sites for years but I just recently started purchasing from them. I have such a hard time passing up a great deal, especially if it's something I've been wanting for a while and have been contemplating paying full price for.

If you aren't already a member (most of you probably are, this is nothing new) I HIGHLY suggest it. I try not to go on every day or I end up buying something but the good thing about Gilt and Haute Look is that their sales change every other day, if not every day so you'll constantly be finding deals that you can't pass up!

I'm waiting for my CC Skye turquoise bracelet in the mail, I was thinking about buying it weeks ago but I was hesitant to buy a casual bracelet for $98 so I passed but thought about it every day. Days later I found it on Gilt for $46! It was destiny so I bought it, surprised?

BOOYA!

I've provided the private invite link to both sites and then you can invite your friends and get credits!!

Also, does anyone know how in the WORLD tumblr works? That thing is such a foreign language to me. I became a member simply because I love collecting and compiling images but WHAT? ...How? I don't get it...

AND, does any else get Rachel Zoe's website updates and email news letters? That woman is a piece-a-work! I love that she thinks decorating your apartment with heinous things is ah-mah-zing.  She also thinks that $200 platform shoe bookends are affordable and chic. She's "seriously disturbed". Unsubscribed.

A Little Space To Call My Own...

We moved into our loft about 7 or 8 months ago now and it's taken me that long to get it together and have it looking remotely like I had planned it. I am a junky for collecting interior design pictures and once I set my creative mind in stride it usually takes off running.

The inspiration for the space was mainly Jonathan Adler but I found some other enlightening images along the way...

After... In The Making...

I've added a few new items since these pictures. It's a work in progress... I want EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME and that becomes a problem. That's actually THE problem. There are some angles I also didn't photograph, I have some chevron fabric on the back of the dressers that are separating the bedroom from the rest of the space. We added tall shelves on both sides of the TV for our DVD collection and I purchased a tall shelving unit for most of my shoes (they all don't fit, I said I have a problem). The bathroom's also the same color scheme as the rest of the place. Eventually I'll get around to taking better pictures and including everything. I'll probably just wait until we have a butcher block and I have more of the knickknacks that I want.... but does that "wanting" ever end? We'll see...

This Egg Is Sunny Side Up Today.

Back in LA. Got the direct flight out of Pittsburgh yesterday just as the huge blizzard was hitting. Lucky Duckling. I had planned to sleep overnight in the Phoenix airport so everything worked out for the best in the end!

It feels so good to come back to sunshine and a cool breeze, just what the Doctor prescribed.

I've done some serious online shopping (can I get a "Hallelujah!" from everyone that has an online shopping problem??) within the past two weeks and was excited to come home to boxes and bags with my name on them! It was like Christmas; only better since I picked the presents myself!

One of my purchases were these Wingtip shoes. I don't have any flats that aren't sandals and they were on super sale discount so like I say every time, HOW COULD I NOT?!

They're the "Melin" by Steven (Steve Madden). I purchased them on 6PM.com which I had never heard of before but researched and found out it's Zappo's outlet store. Basically it's where discount shoes go to die, and I LOVE IT!

I'm wearing them today with cropped black pants, a black v-neck sweater with a white tank under.
They're very masculine shoes (paired with a very masculine outfit) which I'm not used to so next time I'll probably spruce them up with some feminine accent colors.

I've started to make my Birthday Wish (prefer the term "Birthday Must Have") List so I'm sure I'll compile and post here.

Enjoy the SUN or the SNOW today depending on your coast!

Obsessedish...

So I'm in Pittsburgh until Tuesday and I met up with a good friend of mine last night. Her nails looked amazing and if anyone's obsessed with nails and nail polish, it's me. I of course had to ask her what nail polish she uses or what the hell was on her nails that made them look THAT spectacular.

She told me about "Gelish" which is similar to an acrylic nail minus the sanding and a plastic glue on nail that they ruin your poor nails with at a salon. The salon I went to didn't have a huge selection of colors but when in doubt I'm a "Lincoln Park After Dark" girl and they had a color that's pretty much identical.

Some of the "Gelish" colors

I usually paint my nails once or twice a week depending on how they're looking and this "Gelish" nail polish is said to look salon fresh for about 2 weeks. It lasts longer than that but eventually it starts to grow out enough that it needs to be touched up.

OPI also has it's own line of this polish called axxium

It's all done through steps of nail polishes that are then set under a UV light (no acrylic powder like tips). The best part? After it sets, you're good to go! I think this was the first time I've ever reached into my bag after a manicure an pulled out my own keys. It was great! I seriously cannot tell you enough how much I love this!! I'll have to let you know if I still love them in two weeks or so.

New Year, New Schmear...

I'm not much of a country fan (and by not much, I mean I loathe) but I'll tell ya, this is a great rise and grind song.

I have so many images that I've collected over the years I was going to start organizing into daily blog posts today but my inspirational well ran dry after writing a little emotional something for my grandfather's funeral that's on Friday. So, until tomorrow for that. I'm taking the redeye to my hometown tonight so I may just have to wifi and blog my night away if I can't contain myself.

It's been a very weird start to the New Year but I have been reminded in more than one way that family and friends should always come first. I've never been one to be super optimistic about a New Year, or even life in general so the optimism of a New Year is always overshadowed by life for me.

What's the hoopla about a New Year? Isn't it just another day that turns into another week that becomes a new month? (I'm such a party-pooper) The way I see it, everyday is actually the beginning of a New Year. There will always be a year from today, a year from yesterday and a year from tomorrow.

I definitely know I'm in a funk this week but am I seriously the only one that feels this way?

...And So It Begins...

I've been thinking about starting a blog now for about 5 years (more like 2, seems like 20). I haven't because of the "who cares" factor that goes along with writing your feelings and airing your "likes" for the world to see.

I've never exactly had a New Years Resolution so this year I figured it was about time. On New Years Eve I vowed to not go shopping (gift cards and a Birthday outfit exempt) until my Birthday on March 4th. Well on the 2nd of January, 2011, I broke the first New Year's resolution I've ever set for myself. I went shopping and found a pair of Dolce Vita booties for $78 (originally $300), HOW COULD I NOT?!

Instead of crying about my fickle dedication and the serious issue I have with shopping, I decided that the New Year was the swift kick I've been looking for, in terms of blogging.

I'm planning on this being a fracas of things I love and have collected over the years.

No order, no rhyme, no reason.
